PRESSES TO OHIO
Ohio, USA | Ambercor Shipping swiftly rerouted shipment from Hamburg after the Baltimore bridge collapse.
Ambercor Shipping successfully shipped 2 cases (each @ 910 x 505 x 410 cm / each weight @ 66,408 kgs) and 1 smaller crate @ 430 x 292 x 265 cm / 3800 kgs + 1 X 40' HC from Hamburg Germany to Baltimore, MD.
All preparations for the move were completed, route survey completed.
However once the shipment was about to arrive at Baltimore, the bridge collapsed and no further marine traffic was able to enter the port of Baltimore. At this point the ocean carrier informed us that the vessel will be re-routed and we were given 2 options for alternative offloading locations, New York or Norfolk. Ambercor decided to go via New York due to cost and routing possibilities considering the offloading site in Anna, OH.
Our team immediately started working on new route surveys and consequent permits from the port of New York.
Considering the very unfortunate events, Ambercor managed to get the cargo loaded and on the road within days and delivered to a happy customer.
Another job well done by our team, reacting to unthinkable situations and adapting quickly with budget, cargo safety and customer's interests in mind.
