2 x Reactor Units Transportation by Rail from Halifax NS to Marathon, ON
Marathon, ON | Ambercor transported by rail two (2) x 110,000 lbs reactor units from port Halifax NS to a rail siding in Jack Fish, Ontario.
After arriving at the rail siding, the reactors had to be offloaded from the heavy-duty railcars to an over-the-road transport system for its delivery to the customers' site. The most cost-effective method for offloading the transformer from the railcar, and its subsequent transloading to the multi-axle trailer, was to employ a jack and slide system, which then was also used to place the units onto their final pads.
Also, two (2) dedicated full truck loads were required to deliver all necessary accessories from port to site on time. Accessories were also unloaded and placed according to the customer requirements.
Another project completed on time and within budget.
